What type of fiber is in Benefiber products?
There are three types of fiber used in all Benefiber products: wheat dextrin, inulin, and partially hydrolyzed guar gum. Wheat dextrin is used in Benefiber Original, Stick Packs, Chewables, and Healthy Shape, while PHGG, or partially hydrolyzed guar gum, from the guar plant seed is found in Benefiber Advanced Digestive Health Prebiotic Fiber + Probiotics. Inulin is used in Benefiber Gummies.
Both wheat dextrin and PHGG are prebiotic fibers, and are a great way to help support your digestive health.*
Do wheat dextrin and PHGG contain gluten?
All Benefiber powder products contain less than 20ppm of gluten and are considered gluten-free, based on the FDA definition of less than 20ppm. However, people who experience gluten intolerance should not consume any products, including Benefiber, that contain any level of gluten unless otherwise directed by their doctor.
